I know I'm a day late, but I couldn't let my weekend go by without paying homage to the late great Whitney Houston! For many of us, she was the Queen of R&B. In fact, there aren't many who stand in the lane with her vocally. Right now as I write this I am singing my favorite song in my head "How will I know"! I absolutely LOVE that song in addition to so many more. I actually didn't realize that I was sitting in the gym singing the song aloud. Lol! I'll never forget the day she passed, I was at the Philadelphia convention center at the tattoo convention, when one of the employees told me that they had announced that she died over the radio. I felt like I loss a friend or family member. I was shocked that I felt such a connection to a celebrity. When thinking about it, I realized that she was actually a part of my life growing up. I didn't even feel that much sadness when MJ passed away.... shocking I know. Let's get back to the good memories. Whitney was my go to for every game of "Star Search" that my cousins and I played in the kitchen when I was a kid. Some of you are probably like "wth is star search". LOL! That was American Idol when I was a kid. Whitney made you feel like you could sing even if you couldn't. After seeing her on Being Bobby Brown and realizing that she wasn't the faultless person that the media portrayed. I actually felt that made her more real. She was funny, sassy and she told it like it was. Why??? Because she made too much money to do it any other way. Where were you when she passed? What's your favorite memory? Let’s share!
